Foraminal Stenosis [1] - Treatment
What are the treatments for Foraminal Stenosis [1]?
Foraminal stenosis [1] is treated when it causes pain or radiculopathy [2], which is when the nerves are not functioning properly as a result of being compressed or damaged and causing symptoms such as pain, tingling, or numbness in the hands or feet. Asymptomatic foramenal stenosis, or foraminal stenosis [1] that does not cause any symptoms, does not need treatment.
Effective treatments for foraminal stenosis [1] include therapy [3], interventional pain management [4] and surgery. The minimally invasive Deuk Laser Disc Repair [5]® is possibly the most effective surgical treatment for symptomatic foramenal stenosis and uses a laser to “open” up clogged foramen relieving pressure on the nerve root being compressed. This procedure is an endoscopic, laser assisted surgery that uses only a quarter inch incision and is performed outpatient.
